Elizabeth Barrett

Elizabeth is a graduate student at the Boston College School of Social Work and is completing her final year field placement at Strategy Matters as an Associate Consultant. Originally from Seattle, Elizabeth holds a BA in Social Work from St. Olaf College in Minnesota. Elizabeth began her career managing a three-bed corporate foster home for adolescent males with mental illness and developmental disabilities. This challenging and rewarding position involved daily collaboration with support staff and interdisciplinary teams to ensure a safe and positive environment for residents.

Prior to her move to Boston, Elizabeth worked as a case manager for individuals with developmental disabilities in Dakota County, Minnesota. In this position, Elizabeth had the opportunity to assist families and teams in developing innovative, community-based service plans for individuals with complex medical and behavioral needs. During her recent field placement at Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission, Elizabeth worked to increase awareness of community-based options for individuals with acquired brain injury by conducting statewide outreach to nursing facilities.

In the future, Elizabeth hopes to use her macro-MSW to make creative improvements to existing service delivery systems.
